Katana Sushi in Midlotdian

Our new go-to sushi place! Our server was super friendly and took the time to engage with our two young boys. The food was delicious and the restaurant has that authentic Japanese feel that we love. The sushi was fresh and well prepared. The Katana Balls are a tasty treat (fried little cream cheese wontons) to start your meal. Absolutely recommend this restaurant if you love good sushi. Bonus points for being so kid friendly!

Katana Sushi is a great place to eat, not too crowded or too pricy. The staff are polite and the food gets to you quickly. Their food is exceptional and not too filling. Great place for lunch, as it is light but leaves you feeling great.

One of the best and my favorite sushi restaurants in town. The sushi, rolls, and sashimi are all fresh and prepared and presented so well. I always have a wonderful experience dining here, and their service is exceptional! Highly recommend the Katana Special Platters when dining with groups. Platters come with variety options, and the portions are great. Thank you Katana!

A favorite lunch spot. Service and wait times are short. Staff is very friendly, kitchen and staff well managed and the environment is happy. Great for kids. Even better for adults. Their raw fish and sushi are excellent. Nothing on the menu has disappointed.

This place is a great combination of quality and serving size for the price. They do NOT skimp on the fish - my nigiri sushi was cut thick and was delicious! The spicy tuna roll really has a bite to it - you don't notice it right away, but it creeps into your mouth and opens your sinuses starting shortly after you swallow. The Kenny roll was also excellent as-is - no need to add garnish or soy sauce. The only disappointment was that they were out of fatty tuna when I was there, but such is life! Oh, and the service: fast,friendly, and all-around wonderful.The pricing was reasonable, the service is great, the sushi is very good and the fish is generously portioned. Worth a visit!

Katana Sushi has always been consistent and having tried several Sushi restaurants and joints, Katana Sushi, ranks for me as the # 1 place for Sushi and Sashimi in Richmond. Thank you Katana.

Good, not great. They use black/purple rice which is a nice change. Staff always seem friendly (although only had take out thanks to covid).Way too much rice in their rolls, way too much sauce (I don't need a pool of eel sauce), and last order changed my sashimi order from maguro to Toro (receipt still said maguro. Not enough to shy me away, but definitely gives me pause when ordering

Good quality fish and rolls and service

Best sushi you can get in Midlothian

Loved it! We actually went to two other sushi restaurant tonight and left. One was all you can eat rolls and we don't do many rolls and the other had a 45 minute wait on sushi. I had originally seen Katana on here and should have gone with my gut instinct. Very fresh nigiri and sashimi! Very thick pieces too! Staff is amazingly friendly and service was great! You can't beat the price either. We had three combo, two soups and beer and the tab was under $30. My husband and I were both full as ticks. We highly recommend!!!!

For someone who is not a big seafood eater I actually did enjoy everything I tried. Several options for non seafood eaters, as well as veggie sushi and not-so-fishy sushi

Exceptional sushi. Quaint atmosphere. The sushi rice was most surprising, it’s pink!! Each and every roll was delightful. I particularly enjoyed the White Dragon roll, just cooked salmon on top. A very different flavor for sushi.

Best sushi anywhere! Fresh and they use purple/black rice! My favorites are Peter Naruto II and Kamikaze rolls. Also, cucumber salad is really great!

Best sushi I’ve had since I left Japan 5 years ago.

The service was excellent and the sushi was AMAZING in flavor, presentation, and size! We ordered the Bulgogi, VA Beach, and Double Shot rolls. The Bulgogi was my favorite, the beef was marinated well. You could taste the spices and the meat was very tender. The other 2 rolls were good as well. I appreciated the pink rice, the taste is the same but the presentation was aesthetically pleasing. We ordered 2 bottles of sake and those were tasty too. This was my first visit and I was pleasantly satisfied. I will definitely be back for more!

My new favorite sushi place in Midlothian. Everything was good, standouts were the salmon belly and Uni. Very fresh and flavorful, prices were reasonable, portions generous, no frills decor but that's not why we go.

This place is great. Don't write it off as just a sushi place. It has so much more. Udon noodles, pork and chicken Katsu, and a beef bulgogi sushi roll!!

Our first visit was simply amazing! The food was super fresh and wonderfully prepared. The "purple" rice California Rolls were a visual feast in themselves and our cute waitress explained that it was all naturally created. Good food, large servings, delightful service, smiles from everyone and very reasonable prices. What's not to like. We will be back!!!

Great Food, Great Service, Fun drawing on the walls

So much cheaper than a trip back to Japan, but scratches the itch that we've had since we got back. We had stopped in for sushi a few months back, but didn't look at the kitchen menu which we are kicking ourselves for now. The sushi is delicious and fresh, but the Japanese dishes are where is at. The Japanese Curry is amazing, better even than some of what we ate on our trip. I cannot wait to try the Don Buri, Ton Katsu, Soba, and everything else. We cannot wait to come back!
